• Choose an inspector that you met in reception based on a flyer, business card, appearance etc?

• Pass flyers from the mail room directly on to your client without qualifying them?

• Conduct a background check to make sure he/she had no convictions and won’t place your client, home owner or yourself in danger?

• Check past experience with other clients that used them?

• Check to see how long they have actually been in business?

• Check to ensure that all the right insurances are in place?

• Check to see if they are in the Yellow Pages – ( if not a new inspector)?

• Check to see if they use their cell phone for telephone number as their main contact – not a stable company for any client to use.

• Request a list of previous customer referrals?

• Base the decision on the quality of the inspector's collateral materials and not on reputation

• As a new Realtor, ask experienced Realtors for advice on which inspectors are reputable and qualified?
